LIFE SKILLS 1:1
Our Life Skills 1:1 program is designed to support you to develop practical skills, increase confidence, and build independence in the areas that matter most to you.
Initially, we will meet with you and/or your nominee to discuss your goals, current living skills, strengths, challenges, and priorities. This helps us gain a clear understanding of where you are now and where you would like to be.
From there, we will work collaboratively with you to develop a personalised support plan that outlines your goals, identifies the skills you would like to build, and maps out how we will support you to achieve them.
Your program will be tailored specifically to your needs and may include:
1. Daily Living Skills such as:
Personal hygiene and self-care routines
Laundry and clothing care
Meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking
Food safety and nutrition
Cleaning and household maintenance
Building healthy routines and habits
* Please note, we are not a cleaning service. We will provide services on supporting you to learn to clean, support you in choosing the products to buy, or supporting you to capacity build around cleaning. We do not provide independent cleaning supports. We also do not provide cleaning supplies or equipment)
2. Home & Household Management such as:
Household organisation and decluttering
Creating systems and routines that work for you
Understanding household bills and utilities
Basic tenancy skills and responsibilities
Home safety and hazard identification
Emergency preparedness and planning
Budgeting and money management
Understanding bills and payments
Managing paperwork and important documents
Avoiding scams and staying safe online
Technology Skills
Accessing online services and telehealth
Digital organisation and online safety
Using public transport
3. Planning appointments and outings
Building confidence in community participation
Communication skills
Building and maintaining relationships
Self-advocacy and decision-making
Understanding rights and responsibilities
4. Specialised Skills
Pet care and responsible animal ownership
Executive functioning and organisational skills
Developing sustainable home organisation systems
Building confidence and independence in everyday life
This may include working collaboratively with the important people and services in your life to help you achieve your goals. With your consent, we can liaise with therapists, support coordinators, healthcare professionals, real estate agents, housing providers, and other relevant supports to ensure a coordinated and person-centred approach.
By bringing together the people involved in your journey, we can help create practical strategies, reduce barriers, and support you to build the skills and confidence needed to achieve greater independence. Supports are delivered at your pace, using practical, hands-on learning opportunities that build confidence and create sustainable long-term outcomes. Regular reviews will be completed to celebrate progress, identify new goals, and ensure your support plan continues to meet your needs as your skills and confidence grow.
